About Mercury Brain

The Story Behind

Built on Experience. Driven by Impact.

Founded in Switzerland in 2019 by Dr. Fernanda Wüthrich, Mercury Brain is a Swiss think tank and advisory boutique supporting organisations and decision-makers in complex and high-stakes environments.

Mercury Brain was built on Fernanda’s more than two decades of international experience across Europe and Latin America, combining applied research with practice in governance, strategic communication, crisis and reputation management, mediation and intercultural dynamics.

The idea for Mercury Brain emerged from years of working with partners, clients, communication professionals, journalists and academics across different cultures and countries. This international perspective continues to shape how we approach complex organisational challenges today.

Our work focuses on situations where different interests, cultural perspectives and organisational structures intersect. We help organisations identify risks early, navigate complexity and strengthen the structures in which strategic decisions are made – with the aim of translating those decisions into measurable impact.

Dialogue remains at the core of our approach. When a mandate requires expertise beyond our core capabilities, Mercury Brain brings together selected accredited professionals and trusted partners from an national and international network.

Complex situations are rarely shaped by a single issue.

Governance, organizational structures, stakeholder interests, communication, cultural perspectives, conflict, and reputation can all influence how decisions are understood and made.

Mercury Brain brings these dimensions together through an integrated advisory approach.

The focus is not simply on finding an immediate answer, but on understanding the environment in which a decision needs to be made.

How We Work

Structured thinking. Constructive challenge. Practical impact.

Mercury Brain combines strategic analysis with a deep understanding of human and cultural dynamics to help organisations make better decisions in complex situations, strengthening organisational and economic outcomes and translating strategic decisions into measurable impact.

Leadership at Mercury Brain

Dr. Fernanda Wüthrich

My name is Fernanda Wüthrich,
Founder & CEO of Mercury Brain GmbH.

We advise organisations in complex environments at the intersection of governance, intercultural communication, crisis and reputation management, and inclusive leadership — with a clear focus on translating strategic decisions into measurable impact.

Combining academic rigour with international practice, we analyse organisational dynamics where competing interests, cultural patterns and power structures intersect.

I am typically brought in when decisions stall or risks increase. Yet the greater leverage lies in prevention: together with selected experts and partners, we build structures that identify early signals and strengthen strategic decision-making and governance before issues escalate.
